Friday Wrap-Up

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Here at the TeqSmart blog we are starting a new Friday tradition with a wrap-up of the week that was.
Let’s kick this off with some special thanks to those who commented on our site.

  • Francesca nominated New Park Pizza in Howard Beach as one of the best pizza places in the greater New York area.
  • Scott added his two thoughts to what became our most controversial post.

Things to Look Forward To:
The TeqSmart Lesson Plan contest continues next week. Be sure to check that out. You also have new blog posts to anticipate as well. Is there anything you would like us to feature or discuss next week? Let us know in the comments section.

Last, and certainly not least. We want to thank all the wonderful schools that our training team saw this week. We had a wonderful week and we want to express our gratitude to:
The Archdiocese of NY, Woods Road Elementary; PS 97Q, PS 326K, Public School Five, HS for Global Citizenship, Middletown School District, PS 89X, PS 21Q, Yeshiva of Flatbush, PS 159Q, Marlboro HS, North Shore School District, Walt Whitman HS, North Babylon HS, The Storm King School, Goldstein HS, The New York School for the Deaf, Visitation Academy, Lincoln Orens MS, Syosset Tract Center, PS 109K, Ps 166Q, New School #1 @ PS 60, St. Patrick’s School, Frederick Douglas III, and PS 67X.

Have a great weekend!

Pizza and SMART Boards: Our Two Loves

Monday, February 11th, 2008

As the loyal readers of this blog have come to find, we focus here on important information that is helpful to users across ability levels. Today, I would like to address a more serious topic: Pizza.

As a SMART Board trainer, I spend most of my time on the road traveling between schools, quickly grabbing lunch before doing another training. For this reason, I eat pizza nearly every day. I have eaten it in pizzerias throughout the five boroughs, upstate, Long Island, and New Jersey. With this in mind, I would like to officially announce the location of TeqSMART’s Favorite Pizzeria.

Thus far, the best pizza I have found is Crosby Pizza in the Bronx. Think the best pizza in the tri-state area is near your school? Let us know in the Comments section below.
(For the non-pizza eaters out there, the best Pakistani food I have found is Al Mehran in Jamaica, Queens. Feel free to argue with me on this subject as well.)

Here’s a link to a web activity for using pizza to practice fractions.
