Make “My Content” Your Content

When I first started using the SMART Notebook software, I had zero items in the “My Content” folder. As I kept using the software, creating pages and files, “My Content” began to grow. The first thing that I saved was a picture that I liked. It was a close-up picture of a soccer player getting blasted in the face by a ball. The ball and his face where kind of melted together. The photographer caught the shot at the perfect moment. I thought it would be fun to share this picture when I do lessons and presentations, so I saved it in my “My Content” folder. This way I can access it with minimal disruption to the flow of my lesson. my_content_image

As I got more experienced with creating pages and linking pages to one another, I was making “next” buttons and “back” buttons. I realized that there is a collection of navigation buttons in the gallery already, but they didn’t meet my odd sense of style. I guess that is one reason the folder I am talking about is called “My Content”. Once I made a back button a few times I realized that I don’t want to keep making an arrow, filling it with color, typing “back” or “next”, and then grouping the text with the arrow. So to save them, I dragged each of my created arrows to “My Content”. Watch a quick video here:

Now when I want a “back” button I pull it out of my “My Content” folder. I have now put all kinds of objects in the folder. Needless to say, this is a huge time-saver. I store things like pictures, pull tabs, shapes, videos, and flash animated objects.
