Free Learning Object: Fraction Slider
The TeqSmart Fraction Slider gives students a visual representation of equivalent fractions. Drag the yellow slider across the block of fractions. When the slider reaches the end of an equivalent group of fractions, those fraction blocks will be highlighted.
For example, to show students fractions equivalent to 1/5, slide the bar to the end of 1/5 and 2/10 will become highlighted.

Nice tool! I have used this also with the spotlight (rectangular shape just a bit larger than the “1″ block) to reinforce conceptual understandings by showing selected rows (e.g. with fifths – “why is each section called 1/5 – 5 equal parts, each section is one of the five” etc).
