Some of you may have not heard of Twitter. Some of you may have heard of it, but not known what it is. Some of you may have heard of it, had the idea of it explained to you and then said, “That makes no sense.”

Twitter is a very simple idea of a website. In 140 characters or less, people post information, updates, random thoughts, links, and even images from their computer, PDA, or cell phone. These posts are called tweets. What can people do with 140 characters? News sources post links to their latest articles, celebrities and politicians keep up with their supporters, and your friends talk about how they can’t believe they ate so much pizza.

Who tweets? The New York Times, Barack Obama, John McCain, Britney Spears, 50 Cent, Time Magazine, and tons of others.
