Encourage Students to Read with The Screen Actors Guild and your SMART Board
The Screen Actors Guild has created a website called Storyline Online, an online streaming video program featuring SAG members reading children’s books. Each story has an accompanying guide with related activities. Some of the books displayed on the site include The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg, My Rotten Red Headed Brother by Patricia Polacco, and Stellaluna by Janell Cannon. This website looks great on the SMART Board, and students love it!
Also, the Screen Actors Guild has a program called Bookpals. In this program, actors go to schools weekly to read to students. Visit their website to request someone to come to your school today.
