Show me the money! SMART Board and financial literacy education

As a follow-up to the “non-core” subject resources to use with a SMART Board, we have put together a bunch of really cool sites for all of our business/marketing/accounting teachers out there. In fact, we all clearly need to know more about money, spending, saving, and investing so these sites will work well in just about any class. Check out these interactive, SMART Board friendly sites that are perfect for use in business geared classes and for teaching basic money skills to your students.

Elementary School

A cool, interactive site to use with your SMART Board to teach younger students about earning, spending, saving, and investing is Planet Orange. Students choose a tour guide and explore places like Investor Island and the Republic of Saving without needing a passport!

Younger students can also visit MinyanLand, a virtual world where they can invest money, save money, play games to earn money and even earn virtual allowance. Create a critter name and account for free and get started! MinyanLand is perfect for grades 2-6.

Stay tuned for Middle and High school resources that will be posted tomorrow!
