The SMART Document Camera is not just for Crickets

A document camera displays objects underneath it in real-time to a class, allowing teachers to display and manipulate text, images, and three dimensional objects for students to see. The SMART Document Camera is built to interact directly with the SMART Notebook, allowing for easing viewing and capturing.
On Friday, we used it by placing SMARTs underneath and then capturing the image to the Notebook software by pressing the SMART Document Camera button in Notebook and then pressing the capture button that appeared. We took several images and used the ones we liked best. We captured the video of SMARTs using the SMART Recorder.
While our aim was to raise awareness of the life and struggles of crickets who live in office parks in Long Island, teachers can use the SMART Document Camera to inject student created material, textbooks, related artifacts, and other class materials into a lesson instantly.
We think document cameras are cool, and we especially like the SMART Document Camera.
Does anyone out there use the SMART Document Camera or any other document camera? Let us know, and have a great short week.
