The SMART Document Camera and SMARTs the SMARThropod

Our cricket friend, whom we named SMARTs, wandered inside the CD-rom container as we captured excellent images and videos which we share with you now. We didn’t start the day wanting to advertise the SMART Document Camera, but that is where the day took us.

The above picture is better viewed if you pretend that instead of putting the business card of Joe Dixon, our Director of Professional Development Services, in front of the SMARTs, he is actually in front of a giant billboard. Scary, right? On an unrelated note, Joe, we’d like to apologize for wasting your business card on a cricket who is unlikely to call or email you because he (a) does not work for a school or organization that uses educational technology and (b) lives in the office and thus could talk/chirp at you anytime he wants.
Finally, here is video we recorded using the SMART Recorder of SMARTs. We decided it would be most entertaining if we gave SMARTs the SMARThropod an exciting dance mix.
We hope everyone out there has an excellent fall weekend full of pumpkin patches, apple picking, warm cider drinking, hay riding, and excessive amounts of football watching. See you next week.

No SMARThropods were harmed in the making of this blog post.

Alex, Scott & Ryan: that is hysterically funny. Who knew that happy little cricket would become a super star in 1 afternoon. I can say that I met the cricket the day of his making it BIG

Nice post . . . 1st, there is no need to apologize. The billboard bit was hysterical. We do need to get a few things cleared up. SMARTs real name is Jiminy the MMMXXCLII (but his friends call him JM and yes he is a direct decedent of Jiminy Cricket). You see my great grandfather, on my father’s side, was a cricket whisperer. So, the majority of my family has been supporting cricket’s rights for many generations.
Anyway, JM was actually looking for some support on their SMART Board. JM’s family have been buying 48″ SMART Boards to use as billboards in their neighborhood . . . and they have been very successful I might add. Before he was so rudely placed under a CD cover, he was trying to learn how to move a table once it was created on a SMART Board . . . but now I guess he has larger issues huh . . . JK! I have given him that instruction and now we are working on the best way for a cricket to click and drag so that he can capture over 70% of the table we would like to move.
So, he wanted me to tell everyone to CATCH AND RELEASE!

How’d you get him to dance so well? Promise me it didn’t involve a skillet or electricity like they used in “Happy Feet”.
Joe, is it really 70%? I’m going to make a 1×10 table and check out this whole 70% thing. I’ll let you know how it goes.
