SMART Boards, Vista, and the Annoying Mouse

Some of our readers using Notebook 10 with Microsoft Vista have reported that when they press on the board, a large semi-transparent mouse appears. In our humble opinion, the mouse gets in the way and makes using the SMART Board more difficult.

If this happens to you, here is the solution (courtesy of SMART Technologies):

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel
  2. Double-click Pen and Input Devices
The Pen and Input Devices dialog box appears.
  3. Select the Touch Tab and then clear the Touch Pointer Option.
  4. Act like Arnold Schwarzenegger at the end of one of his action movies when he says something clever as he dispatches the main bad guy and tell that annoying mouse, “Hasta la vista, mousey!” or “Hello mouse, I’m the cat from your nightmares!” or something equally clever.

This should solve the problem. If not leave a comment or email us at training@tequipment.com.
