Kerpoof!

Back from vacation and ready to roll.

  1. Florida is wonderful this time of year.
  2. Juno was robbed for Best Picture.

We have wanted to post about a website we came across called Kerpoof for quite some time now. We had a post ready to go. Then, one of our favorite blogs, Teachers Love SMART Boards, beat us to it. We have learned to never take another vacation. Regardless, here is some information on a website we think works great with the SMART Board.

Kerpoof allows you and your students to create easy pictures, stories, and movies with colorful, interactive elements. We have been playing around with it, and it’s neat. You simply drag in images and then you can change them to your needs. It’s very user-friendly and you can make a lot of cool stuff. In addition, the website provides ideas for how to use Kerpoof in the classroom. Work can be easily saved on the website and printed.

Check it out and see what you can create. Let us know if any of you are using Kerpoof and what you think of it.

Just checked out this site. Seems like a good/fun tool to use with the class. Looks like it would be great for writing and storytelling as well as letting students explore their creativity. The movie feature is good for exploring timelines of stories/sequencing of events.

plus, its just fun to play with… One might say that it rocks the party. We all know that we’ll all be on this site til all hours of the night…

    Hi,

Just checked out Kerpoof! Its cool.

I thought you might want to know about http://www.ToonDoo.com

ToonDoo. is a free, online comic strip creator tool that allows you to create your own comic strips, publish and share it with the rest of the world.

Hundreds of teachers worldwide have still gone along and used ToonDoo with great impact in school, assignment, and presentation environments.

Not just that, it also comes with two cool features for creating your own avatar and uploading your photos and images.

It would be nice if you could review the tool and share your comments.

    Thanks for your time.

Hola TR . . . and thanks for the resource! I used comics in my classroom for years. I would have my students storyboard complex ideas and concepts, brainstorm, complete prewriting exercises, and more using comics. Back in the day I used a program called Comic Life. Anyway the point being, I love the site what an excellent tool for students and btw it works great on the SMART Board!

I was just getting ready to create a post for Vuvox and Mixbook. Your site, Kerpoof, and others have incredible potential for education. Now if we can just get the “powers that be” to stop blocking them from our schools.

    Thanks again TR.
